Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions-

Does the course meet any specific standards?

Yes. The Course complies with the standards set out by the General Dental Council of the United Kingdom. These are some of the highest national standards in the world.


What are the entry requirements?

You will need to be a qualified dentist. You do not need any previous experience in dental implantology. Delegates are taken from any country in the world.


Why should I choose this course?

This Course has been rigourously assessed by the Faculty of General Dental Practitoners (UK) at the Royal College of Sugreons of England for the quality of training. Following this assessment the Course received FGDP(UK) accreditation. The Course combines Distance eLearning with a residential week at Churchill College, University of Cambridge. This allows dentists from all over the world easy access to a complete program of training in Dental Implantology.


What is required for the Academy's 'Certificate in Dental Implantology'?

To receive the 'Certificate in Dental Implantology' you will need to have completed the theoretical and practical aspects of the course. Theory is provided by a structured program of 25 online modules.


What is required for the Academy's 'Diploma in Dental Implantology'?

Dentists who have completed the course can progress to Diploma status by passing an online MCA assessment and completing 3 successful clinical cases in theor home country using a local colleague as mentor.


Who can be my local mentor?

We may already have a mentor registered with the Course who is local to you. If not you can nominate a mentor of your choice. As long as the mentor satisfies our requiremets of experience and knowledge we will register the mentor as an official Course Mentor. The mentor can then be used for your 3 cases. Does the residential week include accomodation?

yes, the Course Fees include accomodation. Check-in is on the Sunday and check-out on the Friday (total 5 nights). Additonal nights can be arranged at extra cost.


How can I get from the airport to Cambridge?

Cambridge is easy to get to from all of the London airports. We can help to arrange your travel from the airport to Cambridge. Travel can be by car hire, by rail, by bus or by taxi.**

Will I get to treat patients?

Because of the UK regulations dentists who are not on the UK's General Dental Council register are not permitted to treat patients. Surgical Skills training is carried out using realistic bone models. Treatment of patients can be carried out in the delegate's home country using a local mentor.


Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes. On enrolment you will have the opportunity to inform us of any dietary requirements.


I already have some experience in dental implantology. Is this course for me?

Many of our delegates have previous experience of implantology, some for many years. This course will allow you to update your foundation level knowledge. Previous delegates have ranged from complete beginners to dentists who are already specialists. The course attracts a broad range of dentists.


What are the course's Aims & Objectives?

Our aim is to take dentists, with no previous implant experience being necessary, and provide a high level of training to enable these practitioners to safely and confidently provide straight forward implant treatment in their own practices.


I live in the UK - can I enrol on this course

No. The International Implantology Course is for non UK dentists only. We run another course soley for UK based dentists - The UK Implantology Course


* When using a local mentor fees will need to be agreed between the dentist and the mentor. Local mentor fees are not covered by the course fees.

**Travel expenses are not covered by the Course fees.


How do I register?
